Liturgical Art

A subset of my work as a painter and illustrator focuses on themes drawn from the Christian tradition and facets of the Gospel and theology. Some of the pieces are available as archival quality prints. More information on ordering can be found on this page

Worship for Workers Project

These illustrations were created in partnership with Fuller Seminary as a part of the Worship for Workers Project, which set out to provide a set of resources including songs, prayers, and liturgies focused on the intersection of work and faith. Each piece below is associated with a song and a set of related resources that can be found on their website here

Holy Week Paintings

This series of five 30x40" paintings walks through the five services of Holy Week. You can read more about them here. These are not readily available as prints, but can be made available upon request.

Gospel Narrative Series

In 2024, I had the opportunity to live paint at the Jubilee Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, during each of the keynote main stage sessions. The theme of the conference follows the arc of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, and these four panels reflect on that narrative in four movements. The greens and yellows indicate flourishing, an element that grows and progresses from panel the panel, and the black represents the presence and place of sin in our human story. The gold veins represent our relationship to God, one which begins in harmony at the beginning, and is fractured in the fall, but finds its way eventually to the redemption of all things in the end.

I completed a four-part piece on the same theme in 2015, using a circular abstract composition that is suggestive of tree growth rings.

Creation series

This triptych of 12x36” panels depicts the three movements of the first three days of the creation narrative. On the first day, light and day were separated. On the second, there was separation of sky and sea. On the third day, land and sea were set apart. These three divisions are of note because on days four, five, and six, different things or beings are set into place each context, in corresponding order.
